Tracy Bergo was a member of the prestigious Blugold swimming and diving team from 1982 to 1985 and again from 1986 to 1987. She earned All-American honors each of the four years she competed at the NAIA Championships and was a member of the national championship 800-yard freestyle relay team in 1987. Bergo was also a member of the Blugold teams that won the NAIA national team title in 1983 and 1987 and four consecutive conference championships. She earned 10 individual conference titles in her four years including triple titles in the 200 and 400 individual medleys in 1984, 1985 and 1987 and double victories in the 100 and 200 backstrokes in 1985 and 1987. Bergo also set conference records in five individual events and three relays. At the time of her induction, she still held WWIAC records in the 100 and 200 backstrokes, the 200 and 400 individual medleys and as part of the 400 and 800 freestyle relays and the 400 medley relay. Bergo also set five individual school records for the Blugolds and was a member of four school record-setting relay teams. She also still held school records in the 100 and 200 backstrokes, the 200 and 400 individual medleys and as part of the 200 medley relay and 400 and 800 freestyle relays. Bergo was named the Blugolds' Most Improved swimmer in 1983 and went on to earn Most Valuable Performer honors in 1985 and 1987. She was also team captain in 1985 and 1987.

A 1982 graduate of Albert Lea High School in Albert Lea, MN, Bergo earned her bachelor's degree from UWEC in 1987.  At the time of her induction, she taught at Shakopee Junior High School in Shakopee, MN and was the swim coach at Edina High School in Edina, MN. Bergo was the assistant boys swimming coach at Centennial High School in Circle Pines, MN in 1988 and was the head girls swim coach and synchronized swim coach at Wayzata High School in Wayzata, MN from 1989 to 1991.
