UWEC Athletics Hall of Fame
Ken Kaiser, a 6-7 forward from Burlington, was a complete player who started 72 consecutive games as a Blugold. He scored 1,050 points at an 11.9 clip, grabbed 670 rebounds for a 7.6 average and passed off for 241 assists, a 2.7 average. He had career highs of 34 points and 18 rebounds. Kaiser was the Emil Liston Award Winner in 1974-75 as the top junior student-basketball player nationally in the NAIA. As a senior, he was All-Conference and All-District as well as earning both team and conference MVP honors. He was named to the College Division Academic All-America First Team both his junior and senior seasons. He was the University’s Scholar-Athlete two times at a time when only one person was selected from each institution’s overall athletic program. He was a team captain in 1975-76, MVP of the Eau Claire Holiday Classic in 1975 and the Frosh MVP of an undefeated JV squad in 1972-73. He played on two Holiday Classic championship teams, a Shrine Classic (Savannah, Georgia) title team and an NAIA District 14 championship team in addition to two conference championship squads. Since graduation, Kaiser has been employed by First Wisconsin National Bank where, at the time of his induction, he was Assistant Vice President on a special assignment.
