Steve Johnson was a four-year starter on Ken Anderson’s powerhouse Blugold teams that won three conference championships, played in three national tournaments and compiled an overall record of 93-14. The 6-foot-8 Johnson was one of Anderson's first recruits. In 98 games, he averaged 9.0 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. He was known as the team's front-line defensive specialist. He was twice selected to the All-Conference team and once to the All-District team. He was the leading vote-getter on the 1972 college division Academic All-American team. Johnson graduated summa cum laude with a comprehensive accounting major. He was named the Outstanding Senior in the School of Business. He joined the Milwaukee office of Touche Ross & Co. where he became a partner. In 1982, he was granted a fellowship at the Financial Accounting Standards Board in Stamford, Connecticut. That group is the standard-setting board for the entire accounting profession. He returned to Touche Ross & Co. as a partner in the Executive Office in New York and in June of 1985 will transfer to the Dallas, Texas office.Â
