Judy Kruckman served as women's athletic director at UWEC from 1974 to 1984. In 1984, she left UWEC to become acting director of the Wisconsin Women's Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WWIAC) in Madison. In 1985, she was appointed commissioner of the WWIAC, the position she held at the time of her induction. She served as president of the WWIAC from 1974 to 1976 and chaired the conference Ethics Committee from 1977 to 1978. At UWEC, Kruckman served as instructor in the physical education department from 1966 to 1984. She was the Blugold  women's swim coach from 1969 to 1977 and women's tennis coach from 1970 to 1974 when women's athletics belonged to the Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW). Kruckman was athletic director when the Blugold women won the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-Sports Championship in 1983, their first year as an NAIA member. She also served as a member of the NAIA District 14 Executive Committee from 1982 to 1985. An Eau Claire native, Kruckman graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High School in 1959 and from UWEC in 1964. She taught in the Mondovi school system before going to graduate school at UW-Madison and receiving her master's degree in 1966.
