Bill Luetzow was a member of the first swim class recruited by Hall of Fame coach Tom Prior. He was a member of four Blugold teams that had a combined 52-12 dual meet record. He was team co- captain as a junior and senior when the Blugolds won conference championships and placed seventh and fifth at the NAIA Nationals. Those national finishes were the first in the top 10 by the Blugolds. Luetzow was a conference place winner in the 100 butterfly, 500 freestyle, 400 individual medley, 50 freestyle and as a member of the 400 medley relay team. Luetzow has been with Caterpillar, Inc. since he graduated magna cum laude from UWEC in 1974.

At the time of his induction, Luetzow was International Liaison Finance Manager for Caterpillar, Inc. in Washington D.C. Prior to that position with the company, he was regional finance manager, residing two years each in Hong Kong and Singapore, with responsibility in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Sri Lanka. Luetzow has been a member of the following export finance advisory groups: National Foreign Trade Council, Coalition for Employment through Exports, National Association of Manufacturers and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He has been a member of the Private Export Funding Corporation's Exporters' Council. Luetzow has also been a guest lecturer at Georgetown University's graduate business school on international trade financing.
