Charlie Emerson, an Eau Claire native, was a four-year Blugold football letterman and two-year wrestling letterman. He played on two of the greatest football teams in school history in 1963 and 1964 when the Blugolds won conference championships and finished 7-0 and 7-2. An All-Conference center in 1964 and 1965 and All-District team member in 1964, Emerson captained the 1965 Blugold team and received Honorable Mention in the balloting for Little All-American. A 1967 UWEC graduate, Emerson has been a lifelong employee of Oscar Mayer, which is now known as Kraft USA. He began as a trainee in Madison and account representative in Stevens Point. He advanced to account manager in Madison; district sales manager in Davenport, Iowa; special team manager in Chicago; assistant general sales manager in Madison; plant sales manager in Nashville, Tennessee; and regional manager in Nashville. In 1980, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he became regional sales manager and at the time of his induction was district manager of sales and sales operations for the Georgia/Alabama district of Kraft USA. Emerson has received numerous company awards including District Manager of the Year, Millionaire Award and Oscar Mayer MVP Regional Manager of the Year Award.
