Sue Pulvermacher competed in four sports at UWEC from 1976 to 1980. She competed all four years on the Blugold basketball team, the 1976 and 1977 seasons on the volleyball team, the 1977 and 1978 seasons on the track team and the 1980 season on the softball team. Pulvermacher earned All-Conference honors as a volleyball player in 1977 and also qualified for the national track and field championships in the shot put that year. She was named Most Valuable Player on the Blugold basketball and softball teams in 1980 and held individual basketball records for best field goal percentage and most rebounds in a game. During the 1979 season, she hit all eight of her field goal tries against UW-Milwaukee for a perfect field goal percentage and grabbed 21 rebounds against UW-River Falls. Pulvermacher was co-captain of the volleyball team in 1977 and captain and co-captain of the basketball team from 1977 to 1980. As a coach, Pulvermacher directed the volleyball team at Fennimore High School from 1981 to 1983 and the basketball team from 1981 to 1984. She was also assistant basketball coach at UWEC during the 1984-85 season. A 1976 graduate of River Valley High School, Pulvermacher earned her bachelor's degree from UWEC in 1980. She was an honors graduate, being named to the Dean’s List all nine semesters at UWEC and being selected as the Outstanding Senior. At the time of her induction, Pulvermacher was a developmental editor of college textbooks for Wm. C. Brown Publishers in Madison.
