UWEC Athletics Hall of Fame
Penny Barkley was a basketball, baseball and track star at UWEC from 1925 to 1927. He captained the basketball team during the 1926-27 season. After his collegiate years, Barkley coached basketball and baseball at Pardeeville for 14 years. He arrived at Pardeeville following the tenure of Ade Olson. After two short years at Black River Falls, Barkley finished out the remainder of his 42 years of teaching service in the state at Waupun. At Pardeeville, his basketball teams won 215 games, 12 conference championships and the state Class C championship in 1936.
