Sue Momsen swam for the Blugolds from 1972 to 1976. She was the conference champion and record holder in the 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle and 400-yard freestyle in 1972. She held numerous school swim records and was a national qualifier in the 200 and 400 freestyles. A Menomonee Falls North graduate, at the time of her induction Momsen was working toward a doctorate degree in exercise physiology and was a physical education teacher and synchronized swim coach at Lyons Township High School in La Grange, IL. As a coach, Momsen has worked with 24 state champions in synchronized swimming and coached eight state championship teams. She was the girl's swim coach at La Grange from 1977 to 1980, earning Illinois District Coach-of-the-Year and Illinois Top Ten Coach-of-the-Year honors in 1980. She also coached Junior Olympic and age group synchronized swimming from 1979 to 1985, producing numerous individual and team champions. At the time of her induction, she was the mother of one.
