UWEC Athletics Hall of Fame
Sue Guerin competed on the women's gymnastics team from 1976 to 1980. She was a member of the All-Conference team all four years and was voted team Most Valuable Performer three years. She was a member of the national qualifying team her senior year, placing ninth on the vault and 11th on the floor exercise. In 1978, she was honored as the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram Athlete of the Month. A native of Mequon, she graduated from Homestead High School in 1976 where she was a member of the 1975 state championship team and was the 1976 individual state champion on the balance beam. From 1981 to 1986, Guerin taught elementary physical education and coached gymnastics in Beaver Dam. She was an instructor at the Lakeview Health and Fitness Center in Danville, Illinois for two years before moving to Boise, Idaho where she was a substitute teacher at the time of her induction.
