Lisa Roettger was a member of the Blugold swimming and diving team from 1979 to 1983. She earned the national title and All-American honors in 1-meter diving at the AIAW nationals in 1982 and on the 3-meter board at the NAIA nationals the following year. She was a member of the first national championship team for the women's program at UWEC when the team claimed the NAIA crown in 1983. As a senior, she was named to the NAIA Academic All-American Team. Roettger earned the conference championship on the 1-meter board in 1980 and on the 3-meter board in 1983 and was also part of a team dynasty that won four conference championships during her years at UWEC. A 1979 gradutate of Stillwater High School in Stillwater, MN, Roettger earned her bachelor's degree from UWEC in 1983. In 1986, she added certification for elementary and adapted physical education. Roettger taught physical education at Albuquerque Academy College Prep School in Albuquerque, NM from 1984 to 1985 and has also coached diving at Eau Claire Memorial High School. From 1986 to 1987, she operated a dance studio and taught ballet, tap and jazz dance to 100 students. At the time of her induction, she was teaching private swimming lessons and served as a substitute aerobic instructor.
