UWEC Athletics Hall of Fame
Frank Hoehn played Blugold basketball and baseball for three years. He was a pitcher on the diamond squad and played both guard and forward on the basketball team. He was captain of the 1925-26 squad. Hoehn took the coaching reins at Blair after his graduation from Eau Claire. He won basketball championships in both of his years there. He moved on to Arcadia where he spent three years as a coach, then became Superintendent of Schools for nine years. He left the western reaches of the state for Port Washington on the far eastern edge of the state. There he was Principal and Superintendent of Schools for 29 years although he spent a few years of this time in the business world. He received the State of Wisconsin Service Award from Governor Warren Knowles and State Superintendent William Kahl. He was the recipient of the Certificate of Merit from the Wisconsin Association of School District Administrators.
