Jerry Berseth had 414 yards in receptions as the 1956 Blugold football team won the conference championship with an unblemished record. Then a freshman from Stanley, Berseth would also letter in 1957 and come back to letter in 1960 and 1961. As a senior, Berseth served as Blugold captain and earned All-Conference and All-District recognition. His career included a number of pass receiving marks that have since been broken.
After receiving his bachelor's degree, Berseth became head basketball coach and assistant football coach at Nekoosa for three years. He spent one year at Bruce as the head football, basketball and baseball coach; then left to serve one year as guidance counselor for the Ashland Public Schools. In 1967, he joined CESA #4 as a school psychologist. At the time of his induction, Berseth was the high school principal and athletic director at Fall Creek, where he started in 1967. Berseth has been a member of the WIAA Advisory Council for 14 years. At one time, he was president of the WIAA Advisory Council. He has also been president of CESA #10 and president of the Cloverbelt Conference.
