UWEC Athletics Hall of Fame
Chris Seyser was a member of the nationally recognized Blugold swimming and diving team from 1985 through 1988. Seyser qualified for the NAIA Nationals each of her years of competition and was a four-time All-American and a member of the Blugold teams that won back-to-back national titles in 1987 and 1988. Her highest national finish came as a member of the 800-yard freestyle relay team that captured fifth in 1986. Individually, she took 11th in the 1650-yard freestyle and 12th in the 500-yard freestyle in 1986. Seyser was also an NAIA Academic All-American in 1987 and 1988. On the conference level, Seyser was a member of the conference and school record-setting 800 freestyle relay team in 1987. The Blugolds also won four conference team titles with her on the team. Seyser finished in the top six in the 500 and 1650 freestyle events at the conference championships three years, taking second in both events in 1985 and third in both events in 1986. Seyser earned a spot on the All-Conference First Team in 1987 and the All-Conference Second Team with her individual runner-up finishes in 1985. Seyser was a 1984 graduate of Hobart High in Hobart, Indiana and earned her bachelor’s degree from UWEC in 1989. At the time of her induction, Seyser was the director of administrative services for Midwest Center for Youth and Families in Kouts, Indiana. She and her husband were also owners of The Little Red School House Preschool in Crown Point, Indiana
