UWEC Athletics Hall of Fame
Marv McMahon competed at UWEC from 1921 through 1924. McMahon was an alternate quarterback on the 1922 team but took over the No. 1 position when Red Carroll left the following year. In a 16-14 win over Superior in 1922, McMahon drop-kicked three field goals, a record that he shared with several others in the conference. McMahon's teaching and coaching careers included terms at Mondovi, Chicago St. Patrick's Academy and Minneapolis De La Salle. He worked summers as an athletic counselor in boys' camps in Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota. In August of 1962, McMahon assumed the position of Superintendent of the Kettle Moraine Boys School located near Plymouth. That same year he was presented the Wisconsin Public Welfare Distinguished Service Award. A year later, he received the UWEC Alumni Association's Distinguished Service Award.Â
