Don Pierce played Blugold football two years, earning All-Conference honors twice and being named to the 1956 NAIA All-America Second Team. Pierce was a Blugold co-captain and played tackle on the 1955 and 1956 teams, the latter of which won a conference championship with an undefeated 7-0 record. Pierce began his career at Durand High School, where he stayed for two years. He then spent 17 years at Menomonee Falls High School, one year at Somerset and in 1977 became principal of DePere High School. In his first teaching position at Durand, Pierce coached football, basketball and track. He also taught and coached football and track his first 11 years at Menomonee Falls. He became an Assistant Principal of Menomonee Falls East in 1969 and Principal in 1972. He took a position as District Administrator at Somerset in 1976 but moved on to DePere in 1977.Â
