ROCHESTER, Minn. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's and women's swimming and diving teams opened up the three-day Rochester Invite on Thursday.
Ben Keller (Sr. - Cedarburg, Wis.) won the men's 200-yard individual medley to highlight the Blugolds' opening day at the meet.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Keller finished the 200-yard IM in 1:50.82, defeating several NCAA Division II swimmers in the race.
- Keller was the Blugolds' lone event winner on the opening day, but several others placed in the top four of their events.
- Molly Hosack (Jr. - Cedarburg, Wis.) took second in women's 500-yard freestyle, while the men's 800-yard freestyle relay team also earned a runner-up finish.
- Kadin Denner (Sr. - Aurora, Colo./Cherokee Trail) and Blake Wallen (So. - Savage, Minn./Prior Lake) both had a fourth-place finish. Denner was fourth in the men's 500-yard freestyle, and Wallen took fourth in men's one-meter diving.
- The women's 800-yard freestyle relay also swam to a fourth-place finish.

The meet continues on Friday and Saturday in Rochester. Prelims begin at 9:30 a.m. each day, while finals begin at 5:30 p.m.
