Following Day 2 of WIAC Swim and Dive Championships, Men's Program sits in First, Women's in Second

BROWN DEER, Wis. — UW-Eau Claire men's and women's swim and dive teams continued WIAC Championships Thursday in Brown Deer, WI. Day two concluded with the men's team in first place with a team score of 286 and the women's team in second place with a team score of 302.50. The second day of competition was highlighted by the men's 400 medley relay team setting a new school record with a time of 3:17.72, as well as multiple first place and podium finished for both programs.

For the men, Derek Stadheim secured the top position in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:32.45, leading the individual performances for UW Eau-Claire. Emmett Botten earned third place in the 200-yard individual medley, clocking in at 1:53.59, and contributed to the second-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay alongside his teammates. Drew Testin captured second place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.98 and also played a vital role in the team's successful relay performance.

For the women, Molly Hosack led the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a first-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle, clocking in at 5:01.98. Emma Vogen secured second in the same event, finishing in 5:06.55. Amber Winter excelled in the 200-yard individual medley, securing third place with a time of 2:10.92, and contributed to the first-place 400-yard medley relay team alongside Erika Schroeder, Elaina Plonis, and Anwen Smith, which finished in 3:49.50. In the 50-yard freestyle, Smith claimed second place with a time of 23.81, while Grace Schnabl took third in 24.08.
