BROWN DEER, Wis. — UW-Eau Claire men's and women's swim and dive teams continued WIAC Championships Friday. Day three finished with the men's team in second place with a team score of 562 and the women's team in second place with a team score of 589.50. Highlights of day three include
Anwen Smith setting a program record in the 100 yard butterfly, and saw multiple podium placements.
For the men,
Emmett Botten contributed to a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with teammates
Evan Bushko,
Derek Stadheim, and
Jack Gunderson. Stadheim also excelled individually, winning the 200-yard freestyle in 1:39.83.
Henry Botten claimed the top spot in the 400-yard individual medley, clocking a 4:06.64.
Jack Gunderson earned second place in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching the wall at 54.96.
For the women,
Molly Hosack showcased her competitive edge in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:53.59.
Amber Winter claimed first place in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 1:05.37.
Emma Vogen delivered a strong performance, finishing second in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:33.97. In the women's 100-yard backstroke,
Erika Schroeder captured second place, completing the event in 57.82.
