HILTON HEAD, South Carolina (blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team started their spring break campaign with a 5-3 win over George Fox on Monday.

Madison Rossebo (Sr.-Minnetonka, MN) and Sarah Henderson (Fr.-Prior Lake, MN) earned victories at number three and number four singles, winning by scores of 6-4, 6-4 and 6-4, 7-5, respectively.

Olivia Gallagher (So.-Lodi, WI) recorded the only other singles victory, winning by a scores of 6-4, 7-6 at number six singles.

The team of Maddie Johnson (Sr.-Lakeville, MN/South) and Rossebo defeated Sarah Tuemmler and Chantelle Hadeed 8-2 at number one doubles while Colleen McCullough (Jr.-Maple Grove, MN/Osseo) and Henderson defeated Andrea Motley and Ali Diehl 8-5 at number two.

Renee Nelson (Sr.-Madison, WI/La Follette) and Paige Kuepers (Jr.-Green Bay, WI/Southwest) were winning by a score of 6-5 over Catrina Kwong and Taylor Barnes in number three doubles, however, their match was cut short due to rain.

The Blugolds will return to the court Tuesday to take on Elon at 3 p.m.
