EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team had a strong performance as it hosted Ripon College. The Blugolds finished the afternoon with a clean 7-0 sweep, surrendering no sets on the day.
The dual began with
Reese Burton and
Beatriz Felchak winning the No. 1 doubles match 6-2. Next for the Blugolds was the doubles pair of
Delaney Hanson and
Kiera Schmid won their doubles match 6-0.
Marin Catencamp and
Stella Platt rounded off the doubles matches with a 6-2 win heading into singles play.
The Blugolds continued their dominance in singles play winning all six matches in straight sets. Burton won her match 6-1, 6-0;
Aubrey Wittwer took both of her sets in strong fashion 6-1, and 6-3.
Beatriz Felchak showed consistency winning both her sets with a score of 6-2.
Ana Paula Ricaurte,
Morgan Briggman, and
Delaney Hanson each won their matches in two sets, 6-0, 6-1; 6-2, 6-0; and 6-0, 6-0 respectively.
The Blugolds will be right back at it Friday, March 13th against Hamline University as they travel to Orlando Florida for multiple matches over spring break.
