MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) announced its Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week for the week of Sept. 21-27, with UW-Eau Claire men's soccer player Luis Marquez Sedano earning Men's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week honors. Marquez Sedano's selection gives the Blugolds both WIAC men's soccer weekly awards for the week. The selection was determined by a vote of WIAC head coaches and sports information directors.

Marquez Sedano recorded three assists during a 1-1 week for the Blugolds while also making an impact defensively. He played 163 minutes across two matches, anchoring the Blugolds' back line and contributing to UW-Eau Claire's defensive efforts throughout the week.

This marks the first time Marquez Sedano has received WIAC Athlete of the Week honors.

The Blugolds (5-1-2) return to action Tuesday, Sept. 29, hosting Wartburg College at 5 p.m. at Simpson Field.
