MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) announced its Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week for the week of September 14 - September 20, with men's soccer player Owen Backus earning Men's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week honors. The selection was determined by a vote of WIAC head coaches and sports information directors.

Backus helped lead the Blugolds to a 1-0-1 week, scoring four points on two goals across two matches. He scored the game-winning goal in UW-Eau Claire's 1-0 victory over Macalester College (Minn.) before finding the back of the net in the 85th minute against Colorado College to help the Blugolds earn a 2-2 draw.

The undefeated Blugolds (4-0-2), travel to Carleton College for a matchup with the Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22.
