HASTINGS, Minn. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire secured a third-place team finish at the Gustie Spring Classic with a total score of 649 (+73), just one stroke behind the second-place team.
Junior Lily Kaminski led the Blugolds with a strong performance, finishing second individually with a score of 152 (+8), posting rounds of 75 (+3) and 77 (+5).
Tally Schlindwein also made a significant impact, tying for third place at 154 (+10) after improving from a 79 (+7) in the first round to a 75 (+3) in the second.
Elizabeth Hermann rounded out the top individual performances for UW-Eau Claire, placing sixth with a consistent score of 84 (+12) in both rounds.
Riane Hayden, competing as an individual, finished tied for 22nd with a total of 165 (+21), shooting 83 (+11) and 82 (+10) over the two rounds. Senior
Gillian Johnson ended tied for 33rd, carding rounds of 86 (+14) and 84 (+12) for a final score of 170 (+26). Freshmen
Lainey Eddicus and
Bri Novak both concluded the event tied for 54th, each registering a total of 179 (+35).
Claire Stoffel, another freshman, completed the tournament in 71st place with a score of 200 (+56).
The lbugolds will be back on the road next weekend, April 18-19, when they travel back to Minnesota for the Rumble at the Ridge, hosted by Bethel University. Tee times for Saturday at Oneka Ridge Golf Course are scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
