MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced the Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week for the week of September 22-28. The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's soccer team's Alek Laroi has been named the men's soccer defensive player of the week by anonymous vote of WIAC head coaches and Sports Information Directors.

Laroi helped lead the Blugolds to wins over Macalester College (Minn.) and Beloit College (Wis.) during the week from the back line. He recorded two goals and one assist during his 166 minutes played. In addition to his offensive prowess, Laroi and the Blugold defense allowed just two shots on goal during the two games and recorded the team's fourth and fifth clean sheets of the season.
