HASTINGS, Minn. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's golf team was in Minnesota this weekend for the D3 Classic host by Gustavus Adolphus College at the Emerald Greens Golf Course. Lily Kaminski set career lows both days as she placed third overall among 97 competitors. UW-Eau Claire finished sixth out of 18 teams with a combined score of +51 over par.
Lily Kaminski built on her momentum from the weekend before, leading the Blugolds with a two round total of +3 over par. Kaminski shot a career low 74 during the opening round on Saturday and then broke her own record on Sunday with a 73. Kaminski recorded seven birdies and one eagle between the two rounds to lead UWEC.
Tally Schlindwein recorded a pair of 76's on the weekend to finish +8 over par and a sixth place finish.
Elizabeth Hermann and Gilian Johnson finsihed 32nd and 48th respectively to help the Blugolds place in the top-6.
The Blugolds' second team finished 15th overall with the help of
Emily Utter and
Bailey Eddicus tying Johnson for 48th overall.
The Blugolds will be back in action on Friday, September 19 when they travel to Kansasville, Wis. for the Midwest Region Classic at Brighton Dale Links.Opening round tee times are scheduled for 8:30 a.m.
