SARTELL, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's golf team opened the 2025-26 season across state lines at the College of Saint Benedict (Minn.) this weekend at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course. The two round tournament featured 13 teams across the Midwest and the Blugolds finished 6th overall with a team final of 81 strokes over par. Macalester College took the podium on the weekend with a tournament low 41 strokes over par.
Elizabeth Hermann held the low round of the weekend for UWEC, shooting a career low 73 on Sunday. Hermann's +1 in round two consisted of three birdies, four bogeys, and 11 pars. Hermann finished the tournament tied for sixth overall with a two round socre of 13 over par. Lily Kaminski held the second lowest round of the weekend, registering a 78 in round two. Kaminski captured one birdie during Sunday's 12 over par round to finish tied for 31st. Making her Blugold debut,
Tally Schlindwein recorded the second lowest Eau Claire combined total of the tournament finishing tied for 25th and a UWEC first round low of nine over par.
The Blugolds will host their annual home tournament next weekend, the Georgianni Invitational on September 6 and 7. The opening round will be played at Lake Wissota Golf Course and round two will take place at Eau Claire Golf & Country Club. Saturday's tee times begin at 11 a.m. with Sunday's starting at 11:30 a.m.
