Blugolds finish 21st in 2024-25 Learfield Directors' Cup

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire finished 21st in the final 2024-25 Learfield Directors' Cup standings. After a strong spring season, the Blugolds earned a top-25 finish in the national ranking for the fourth time in the last six years the Directors' Cup was awarded.

The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships. The competition highlights consistent success across an entire athletic department.

UW-Eau Claire finished the year with a total of 654.75 points — its fifth-best total ever. The Blugolds earned 209 in the fall, 225.75 in the winter and 220 in the spring. The Blugolds' 21st-place finish is their best since 2021-22, when they took 16th.

In the spring season, UW-Eau Claire was bolstered by postseason performances from its softball and men's and women's track and field teams. The men's track and field team was national runner-up last month, earning 90 points toward the Directors' Cup standings. The women's track and field team took fourth nationally to earn 80 points. In softball, the Blugolds reached the championship round of their NCAA regional to earn 50 points in the Cup.
