DECATUR, Ill.— The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's golf team finished in fifth place at the Take Back the Night Challenge at South Side Country Club, improving from their seventh-place position after the opening round. The Blugolds posted a total score of +97 after a strong performance in the final round.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blugolds shot a +39 in Round 2, a solid improvement from their +58 in Round 1, allowing them to move up two spots in the standings.
- Elizabeth Hermann (So. – Macomb Township, Mich.) led the way for the team with a total score of +19, finishing tied for 13th overall. She posted a solid +6 in the second round to keep her in contention.
- Lilly Kaminski (So. – Green Bay, Wis.) finished in 15th place with a total of +21. She shot +7 in Round 2 to help her secure her position.
- Bri Novak (Jr. – Red Wing, Minn.) finished tied for 27th with a total score of +28.
- Gillian Johnson (So. – Eau Claire, Wis.) finished tied for 32nd with a total score of +31.
UP NEXT
The Blugolds will return to the course on May 4 for the UW-Stout Spring Invite at 10 a.m. at Tanglewood Greens in Menomonie.
