INDIANAPOLIS — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's soccer team now knows their path for the 2025 NCAA Division III men's soccer tournament, and it begins at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn. this weekend.
The Blugolds will travel to St. Paul for their first round matchup with the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Saturday, November 15. Kick off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. CT at Macalester Stadium. The advancing team will face the winner of the host school, Macalester, or Illinois Wesleyan University on Sunday, November 16 with an afternoon expected start time.
In the regular season, UW-Eau Claire played to a 1-1 draw against MSOE away from home in late October. After a scoreless first half, the Blugolds found themselves with a deficit as the Raiders scored the opening goal in the 55th minute.
Ramzi Ouro evened the score in the 71st minute, converting from the penalty spot. This year's contest was the only time UWEC and MSOE have faced each other.
Eau Claire has a familiar foe in the other first round matchup as they have played Macalester College three times in the past three years. Earlier this season in September, the Blugolds defeated the Scots 1-0 in St. Paul after
Alek Laroi scored the game's only goal in the 39th minute. All-time, the Blugolds are 2-0-1 against Macalester.
