SURPRISE, Ariz. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's
Nick Amtmann (Sr. - Nashotah, Wis./Arrowhead) remains in the top 25 entering the final round of the prestigious Thunderbolt tournament at Sterling Grove Golf & Country Club. Competing against an elite field of some of the best college golfers in the country — at any level — Amtmann is tied for 25th after the first two rounds of play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Amtmann remains 1 under par for the tournament after carding an even-par 72 in Monday's second round. He shot a 71 in the opening round on Sunday.
- Amtmann made five birdies and five bogeys on the day. Four of those birdies came across his first 12 holes.
- The senior is seven strokes behind the leader. Amtmann is one of 31 golfers under par at the tournament.
