HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team placed 21st at the NCAA Division III Fall Preview at Mission Inn Resort, closing with a team score of 908 (+48) over three rounds.
Drew Maglio led the Blugolds, tying for 26th individually with a final score of 219 (+4), highlighted by a second round 68 (-4).
The side concluded the event with a team score of 908 (+48), placing 21st out of 24 teams. The Blugolds improved in the second round, shooting a 295 (+7) after an opening round of 305 (+21), but struggled in the final round with a score of 308 (+20). Maglio led the team, finishing tied for 26th individually. His performance included a standout second round of 68 (-4), which was among the best single-round scores in the tournament.
Spencer Lynch and
Cameron Stenzel also contributed to the team's efforts. Lynch tied for 86th with a three-round total of 229 (+14), highlighted by a second-round 73 (+1). Meanwhile, Stenzel tied for 104th, with his best round of 73 (+2) coming in the first.
Luke Taebel and
Ryan Jamieson rounded out the lineup, finishing tied for 109th and 112th, respectively, with Taebel shooting an even-par 72 in the second round.

He improved significantly after his opening round, posting a 68 (-4) in the second round and concluding with a 73 (+1) in the final round for a total score of 219 (+4). Lynch ended tied for 86th, starting with a 78 (+7), then carding a 73 (+1) in the second round before finishing with a 78 (+6) for a total of 229 (+14). Stenzel tied for 104th, beginning with a 73 (+2) but struggled in the second round with an 82 (+10), ending with a 79 (+7) for a final score of 234 (+19).
In their next event, the Blugolds will compete at the Grand Intercollegiate on Sunday, Sept. 28. The competition will take place at the Grand Geneva Resort's Highlands Course in Lake Geneva, Wis., with the action commencing at 11 a.m.
