SAUK RAPIDS, Minn. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire secured a strong third-place finish at the 2026 Saint John's Spring Invitational with a team score of 580 (+8).
Spencer Lynch led the team with a standout individual performance, capturing first place by shooting a final round 65 (-6) which is the second lowest in school history.
Spencer Lynch led the Blugolds with a standout performance, securing first place individually with a final score of 138 (-5). Lynch improved significantly from his first round of 73 (+1) to card a remarkable 65 (-6) in the second round. His 65 strokes is the secondest lowest in school history.
Bennett Madson tied for 26th overall, posting a 148 (+5) with a notable first-round score of 70 (-2) before concluding with a 78 (+7).
Luke Taebel also tied for 26th, matching Madson's total with rounds of 76 (+4) and 72 (+1), showing consistency in his play over the two days.
The second team from UWEC finished 13th with a total score of 613 (+41).
Alec Sosnowski was a standout for the B team, tying for 26th individually with a total of 148 (+5), shooting rounds of 75 (+3) and 73 (+2).
Karsen Kruse and
Cameron Stenzel both tied for 53rd, each posting a total score of 154 (+11).
Lucas Ladd finished tied for 66th with rounds of 79 (+7) and 78 (+7), culminating in a 157 (+14).
The Blugolds will gear up for one last regular season meet as they head to Nekoosa, Wis. to play at Lake Arrowhead Pines and Lakes Course for a WIAC Triangular with UW-Stout and UW-Stevens Point on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 29 and 30.
