EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's track and field team's Kayla Behnke earned first team Academic All-America honors for 2026 for the second time in her career. CSC announced its Academic All-America Teams on Wednesday.

Along with capturing first team honors last year, Behnke's first team status is the fourth first team honor since 2008. The senior placed second in the discus and fourth in the hammer throw at the Outdoor Track & Field Championships. During the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships, Kayla was the WIAC champion in the hammer throw and was runner up in the discus. During the Indoor Track & Field Championships, Behnke placed 3rd in the weight throw and was crowned WIAC champion in the weight throw.

In March, Behnke was named the Elite Scholar-Athlete Award winner for NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track & Field. In the classroom, the senior posted a cumulative 4.00 grade point average while majoring in mathematics & computer science.

Behnke is the second Blugold in the women's program history as a two-time Academic All-American and first Blugold two be named to the first team twice.
