UWEC Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams Each Secure Top 3 Team Finishes at WIAC Outdoor Championships

LA CROSSE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Men's and Women's Track and Field teams secured multiple top-three finishes at the WIAC Outdoor Championships. The men's program finished 3rd of teams in team score and the women's program finished 2nd of 8 team in team score.

UWEC Women's Track and Field Summary:
Sprints:
Allyson Kakes secured second place in both the 100 Meters with a time of 12.03 and the 200 Meters with a time of 24.33. In the 400 Meters, Kylee Grabarski finished second with a time of 56.25.

Middle Distance:
Hooker claimed first place in the 800 Meters with a time of 2:10.97. Lauren Jex finished sixth in the same event with a time of 2:16.62.

Distance:
In the 5000 Meters, Molly Heidorn placed third with a time of 17:07.46. Keeley Behr earned second place in the 10,000 Meters with a time of 35:43.81.

Hurdles:
Lauren Dimler took second place in the 400 Hurdles, clocking in at 1:01.03, while Michaela Dick followed in third with a time of 1:01.51.

Jumps:
Laura Bertrang placed fourth in the High Jump with a mark of 1.58m. In the Triple Jump, Anna Thaler secured fourth place with a distance of 11.64m.

Throws:
Kayla Behnke won the Hammer with a throw of 56.91m and took second in the Discus with 47.14m. Amaria Kejo finished second in the Shot Put, achieving a mark of 13.40m.

Heptathlon:
Britt Fitzgerald placed second in the Heptathlon with a total of 4406 points. Catie Hook finished third with 4382 points.


UWEC Men's Track and Field Summary:
Sprints:  
Reilly Templeton placed 4th in the Men's 200 Meters Finals with a time of 21.63. In the Men's 100 Meters Preliminaries, Templeton also ranked 11th at 10.71.

Middle Distance: 
Noah Kundert secured 5th in the Men's 800 Meters Finals with a time of 1:52.65. Jack Wanezek finished 8th in the same event, clocking 1:52.77.

Distance:
Addison Wong finished 16th in the Men's 1500 Meters with a time of 4:01.92. Jack Nelson placed 17th in the Men's 10,000 Meters at 31:38.87.

Hurdles:
Blake Postler won the Men's 400 Hurdles Finals, completing the event in 50.87. Postler also placed 2nd in the Men's 110 Hurdles Finals with a time of 13.89.

Jumps:
Jace Stolte achieved 5th place in the Men's Long Jump with a mark of 7.01m. Johnny Botsch ranked 4th in the Men's Pole Vault, clearing 5.00m.

Throws:
In the Men's Discus, Gage Stankiewicz achieved 3rd place with a throw of 53.54m. Adam Beck secured 5th in the Men's Hammer with a mark of 55.74m.
