DES MOINES, Iowa / EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire showcased impressive performances across two events this weekend. At the 116th Drake Relays, they secured a fourth-place finish in the 4x100 relay with a time of 46.90 and a sixth-place result in the 4x400 relay. Meanwhile, at the UW-Eau Claire Dick & Mary Johnson Invite, the Blugolds dominated the field events, claiming victories in the women's shot put, discus, hammer, and javelin.
Sprints
At the Drake Relays, the Blugolds' 4x100 relay team finished fourth with a time of 46.90. At the Johnson Invite,
Elia Happe placed sixth in the 100 meters finals with a time of 12.75, while
Lauren Jex secured second place in the 400 meters with a time of 58.59. The 4x400 relay team A, consisting of
Danielle Casey,
Michaela Dick,
Amina Idris, and
Brooklyn Lamers, finished first at the Johnson Invite with a time of 3:57.05.
Hurdles
Lauren Dimler placed 20th in the 400m hurdles at the Drake Relays, recording a time of 1:02.25.
Michaela Dick took second place in the 400 hurdles at the Johnson Invite with a time of 1:02.32, while
Brooklyn Lamers placed seventh in the 100 hurdles finals with a time of 15.43.
Throws
Kayla Behnke participated in the discus at the Drake Relays but did not record a mark due to fouls. In contrast, she triumphed at the Johnson Invite, winning the discus with a throw of 48.97m and the hammer with a distance of 56.74m.
Amaria Kejo also stood out, winning the shot put with a throw of 13.03m.
Looking ahead, the Blugolds will compete at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships on Friday and Saturday, May 1st and 2nd in La Crosse, Wis.
