PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire delivered a strong performance at the UW-Platteville Invitational, securing a first-place finish in the women's 800 meters by
Bella Hooker with a time of 2:15.17, and a top-three finish in the women's 200 meters by
Allyson Kakes with a time of 24.65, as well as a victory in the women's 4 x 400 relay.
Sprints
In the Women's 100 Meters preliminaries,
Ava Loney placed 11th with a time of 12.54. In the Women's 200 Meters,
Allyson Kakes secured 2nd place with a time of 24.65.
Middle Distance
Bella Hooker claimed 1st place in the Women's 800 Meters with a time of 2:15.17, followed by
Lauren Jex in 5th place at 2:18.47.
Distance
In the Women 5000 Meter Run,
Molly Heidorn finished 9th with a time of 16:55.13.
Hurdles
Michaela Dick achieved 2nd place in the Women's 400 Hurdles with a time of 1:03.05, and
McKenzie Kruse followed in 3rd with 1:04.32.
Jumps
In the Women's High Jump,
Laura Bertrang placed 6th with a height of 1.58m.
Anna Thaler earned 3rd place in the Women's Triple Jump with a mark of 11.34m.
Throws
Kayla Behnke was 2nd in the Women's Discus with a throw of 46.16m. Bertrang also performed well in the Women's Javelin, finishing 4th with a distance of 38.00m.
Relays
The 4x400 team of
Annabelle Eaton,
Britt Fitzgerald,
Mya Cinnamo, and
Kylee Grabarski placed first with a final time of 3:50.28,
The Blugolds will be back in action on Friday and Saturday, April 17 and 18 at the Phil Esten Challenge, hosted by UW-La Crosse. Events on day one are scheduled for 10:30 a.m.
