LA CROSSE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's track and field team competed at the Mark Guthrie Legacy Invitational on Saturday on the campus of UW-La Crosse.
Kayla Behnke was the lone Blugold to find the top of the podium during the weight throw as UWEC continued their 2026 Indoor season.
With a throw of 17.51m (57' 5 ½"),
Kayla Behnke won the women's weight throw, inching out Bethel's Anna Speratos by one hundredth of a meter. During the 200-meter dash,
Allyson Kakes placed second overall with a season best 24.98 second finish.
Molly Heidorn also placed second in her event. Heidorn posted a career best finish in the 3000-meter run with a final time of 9:55.50 that was under three seconds from the first-place finisher.
The Blugolds' 4x400 relay squad of
McKenzie Kruse,
Annabelle Eaton,
Mya Cinnamo, and
Kylee Grabarski placed second overall amongst the 11 entries. As the anchor, Grabrski crossed the finish line at 3:53.55, earning the foursome a top three finish.
Ava Webster also placed in the top three with her career best shot-put throw of 12.76 meters (41' 10 ½"), earning her a third-place finish.
The Blugolds will be back on the road next weekend with meets at the Midwest Elite 5k at UW-Whitewater on Friday, February 13, and the UW-Stout Quad on Saturday, February 14.
