TEMPE, Ariz. - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's tennis team has captured team and individual academic awards from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for their hard work in the classroom during the 2024-25 academic year.
In addition to the team award, a total of seven Blugolds earned individual recognition: Andrew Muller (Sr. - Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial),
Jose Felipe Trejo (Sr. - Campeche, Mexico),
Otto Schluter (Sr. - Henfield, England),
Pablo Rincón (So. - Bogotá, Colombia),
Sam Murillo (So. - Minneapolis, Minn./Coon Rapids),
Ethan Leeser (Jr. - Rochester, Minn./Lourdes), and
Ethan Wurtzel (Sr. - Menomonie, Wis.).
A total of 1,115 Division III men's tennis student athlete and 135 Division III programs received ITA academic honors. To be named an ITA Scholar Athlete, student-athletes must have a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form. Teams secured the distinction by having a team grade point average of 3.20 or above.
