EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's tennis team earned a 7-1 victory over Bethany Lutheran College in conference action.
UW-Eau Claire secured the doubles point with wins in two of the three flights. At No. 1, Pablo Rincon and Danylo Ripeckyj earned a 7-6(5) victory, while Andrew Mueller and Cohen Newberg added a 6-2 win at No. 3. At No. 2, Sam Murillo and Billy Hughes fell 7-5.
The Blugolds carried that momentum into singles, winning five of the six matches. Pablo Rincon led the way at No. 1 with a 6-3, 6-2 victory, while Billy Hughes added a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 3. At No. 4, Sam Murillo earned a 6-3, 6-4 victory, and Emilio Monge picked up a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 5. Logan Carrollrounded out the wins with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 6. At No. 2, Danylo Ripeckyj was defeated 6-4, 7-5.
