TEMPE, Ariz. - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's tennis team has captured team and individual academic awards from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for their hard work in the classroom during the 2025-26 academic year.
In addition to the team award, a total of seven Blugolds earned individual recognition:
Billy Hughes (So. - Trowbridge, England),
Juan Gallego (Jr. – Madison, Wis./Madison Memorial), Pablo Rincón (Jr. - Bogotá, Colombia),
Andrew Mueller (Sr. - Eau Claire, Wis./Eau Claire Memorial),
Sam Murillo (Jr. - Minneapolis, Minn./Coon Rapids),
Emilio Monge (Fr. - Quito, Ecuador), and
Ethan Leeser (Sr. - Rochester, Minn./Lourdes).
A total of 1,151 Division III men's tennis student athlete and 147 Division III programs received ITA academic honors. To be named an ITA Scholar Athlete, student-athletes must have a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form. Teams secured the distinction by having a team grade point average of 3.20 or above.
