OSHKOSH, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's and women's track and field teams both finished second at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Outdoor Championships on Saturday at Titan Stadium. The Blugolds produced several conference champions on the final day of the meet.
The UW-Eau Claire men finished with 149 points, while the women tallied 148.16. UW-La Crosse won both the men's and women's titles.
Blake Postler (Fr. - Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest),
Yakob Ekoue (Sr. - Hopkins, Minn.) and
Adam Strouf (Sr. - Rice Lake, Wis.) all won WIAC titles on the final day of the meet. Postler was the men's 400-meter hurdles champion, Ekoue won the men's discus and Strouf topped the podium in men's shot put.
Postler finished the 400-meter hurdles in 52.60 seconds to win his first outdoor conference title as a Blugold. Ekoue set a new WIAC Championships record with a throw of 58.45 meters in the discus. Strouf won the shot put with a throw of 18.04 meters.
The Blugolds also had several top-three finishers at the meet to earn a multitude of all-conference honors.

Some Blugolds will compete at the St. Francis Fighting Chance Invite on May 9, while others will compete at the UW-La Crosse Eagle Open that same day.
