LA CROSSE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's and women's track and field teams finished up UW-La Crosse's Phil Esten Challenge on Friday. The fifth-ranked Blugold men captured the team title while the women placed third.
The Blugold men finished with 217 points, beating second-place UW-La Crosse by 54.
Among the highlights for the Blugolds:
Blake Postler (Fr. – Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) set a new school record in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.36 seconds. That broke Jason Wolf's record of 14.51 seconds that had stood since 1995. In the field events,
Yakob Ekoue (Sr. - Hopkins, Minn.) won all three throwing events to continue his dominant start to the outdoor season.
The Blugold men and women also swept the multi events.

The Blugolds will send some competitors to the Drake Relays on April 25-26, while many others will compete at UW-Eau Claire's Dick & Mary Johnson Invitational on April 26 at Simpson Field. The Blugolds' home meet begins at 1 p.m.
