Toth named Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete

MADISON, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Harriet Toth (Sr. - Regina, Saskatchewan/Martin) was named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete for the 2025 gymnastics season.

A senior from Regina, Saskatchewan (Martin), Toth is majoring in behavioral analysis with a minor in family studies and sustains a 3.88 grade point average. She secured a spot on the 2023-24 Academic All-District® At-Large Team, selected by the College Sports Communicators, and is a three-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll. Toth has been recognized on UW-Eau Claire's Dean's List and earned Academic Distinction numerous times. She has received academic scholarships on five occasions.
 
Toth is a two-time National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) All-American, finishing fifth in the all-around at the 2024 NCGA Championship, after placing sixth in the event at the 2023 championship. She was tabbed the 2024 WIAC Gymnast of the Year and NCGA Regional Athlete of the Year. Toth received her team's Newcomer of the Year award in 2022, and was selected MVP in 2023 and 2024. She owns the program record for all-around score, and has contributed to team program score records, program team floor exercise record, program team balance beam records, and program team vault record.
 
She has worked with the campus autism program as a student program therapist and student director. Toth has served as a research apprentice on a behavioral analysis program, as well as a teacher's assistant in the psychology department and honors program. She is a recreation advisory council member and has worked as a youth mentor, student assistant teacher, and building manager for McPhee Physical Education Center.
 
Also nominated for this year's scholar-athlete award were: Gustavus Adolphus College's Marley Michaud (Sr., Sartell, Minn./Sartell); Hamline University's Julia Cheely (Sr., Austell, Ga./East Pauling); UW-La Crosse's Jessica Taylor (Sr., Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley); UW-Oshkosh's Delaney Cienkus (Sr., Plainfield, Ill./North); UW-Stout's Effie Ferguson (Sr., Mississauga, Ontario/Clarkson Secondary); UW-Whitewater's Kelsey Kollhoff (Sr., Miamisburg, Ohio/Miamisburg); and Winona State University's Kennedy O'Connor (Grad., Roselle, Ill./James B. Conant).
 
The WIAC Scholar-Athlete Award is named after Judy Kruckman who served as Assistant Commissioner for the WIAC from 1996-98. Prior to this appointment, she was Commissioner of the Wisconsin Women's Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WWIAC) from October, 1984 - September, 1996. Kruckman was the women's athletics director at UW-Eau Claire from 1974-84, and one of the original representatives to the WWIAC when it formed in 1971. She was inducted into the WIAC Hall of Fame in 2012.

In order to be nominated for the scholar-athlete award, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.50 grade point average. In addition, she must be in her last year of competition, or on schedule to graduate this academic year, and have competed for a minimum of two years. The award is based on academic achievements, athletics accomplishments and involvement in other campus activities, organizations and community service projects.
