STEVENS POINT, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships on Saturday at UW-Stevens Point. The Blugold women finished in second place while the men placed fourth.
The women tallied 106.5 points in the team standings to take second. UW-La Crosse was first with 287.5. The Blugold men earned 75.5 points, with UW-La Crosse winning the meet with 217.5.
Kayla Behnke (Sr. - Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) won the women's weight throw conference championship to highlight the final day of competition for the Blugolds. Her toss of 18.86 meters was her best throw of the season and won the event by more than half a meter.
The Blugolds had multiple top-three finishers on Saturday, including one each in both multi events.
Emilee Booker (Sr. - Genoa City, Wis./Badger) took second in the pentathlon.
Max Foland (Sr. - Middleton, Wis.) was third in the heptathlon.
Blake Postler (Fr. - Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) took second in the men's 60-meter hurdles.
Mason Shea (Sr. - River Falls, Wis.) was the runner-up in the men's 3,000-meter run. The Blugolds' women's 4x400-meter relay of
Kylee Grabarski (Jr. - Waunakee, Wis.),
McKenzie Kruse (Fr. - Spring Green, Wis./River Valley),
Allyson Kakes (So. - Two Rivers, Wis.) and
Mya Cinnamo (So. - Rosemount, Minn.) also took second.
Wes Keller (Sr. - Richland Center, Wis.) tied for third in the men's high jump, and
Anna Thaler (Fr. - Chippewa Falls, Wis./McDonell Central) was third in the women's triple jump.

The Blugolds will have one final meet before the NCAA Championships. They'll compete at the UW-La Crosse Last Chance Meet on Saturday, March 8, beginning at 1 p.m.
