MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced the Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week for the week of December 1 - 7. The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire wrestling's Ian Pepple has been named the Wrestling Athlete of the Week by anonymous vote of WIAC head coaches and Sports Information Directors.

Pepple helped UW-Eau Claire remain 2-0 in WIAC competition and won his non-conference matches during the week as the Blugolds hosted No. 11-ranked UW-Whitewater, No. 8-ranked Loras College (Iowa), and No. 1-ranked Augsburg University (Minn.) for the UW-Eau Claire Super Quad. In his first match of the day, Pepple defeated UW-Whitewater's Logan Kawa by a 19-2 tech fall at 6:47. Pepple continued his momentum against Loras College's Alex Watson with his second tech fall of the evening, winning 16-0 at 5:46. In his last match of the day, Pepple was victorious over top-ranked Ethan Winkelman by a 7-2 decision, completing a 3-0 day for Pepple.
