LEXINGTON, Ky. — The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its 2025 Division III Women's Volleyball All-Region teams and award winners. Of the 200 student-athletes who made All-Region representing 96 different schools UW-Eau Claire's
Bailey Leeke,
Abby Stanwood, and Alek Kiebel were named to the Region 8 lists.
Bailey Leeke earns her second straight All-Region honors after being named to the Region 8 All-Region team in first team in 2024. The Blugold senior is second on the team in kills, kills per set, and points per set. Leeke finished the regular season and conference postseason 8th overall in the WIAC in hitting percentage and 4th overall in total kills and total points. Leeke's posted a season high 25 kills against Coe College back in early October and is coming off back-to-back 20+ kill games against UW-Oshkosh. On October 17, Leeke surpassed 1,000 career kills against Illinois Wesleyan, becoming the 17th Blugold in program history to reach to milestone.
Abby Stanwood collects her first career All-Region honors, being named to the Region 8 first team. Among all Division III athletes, Stanwood currently ranks 11th overall in total kills, 20th overall in kills per set, and 24th overall in points per set. The senior is posting single season career high across the board and currently leads the Blugolds in kills, kills per set, points, and points per set. During the October weekend at Hope College, Stanwood posted three straight double-doubles, earning her AVCA Division III Player of the Week, and has tallied 12 total games this season with 10+ kills and digs.
Alex Kiebel sensational rookie season has not gone unnoticed, as the freshman was named to the Region 8 All-Region Honorable Mention team and was named the Region 8 Freshman of the Year. Kiebel currently ranks 40th overall in Division III in total assists and finished the regular season and conference postseason ranked second in the WIAC and first on the team in total assists, assists per set, and service aces. Kaitlyn Erickson was named the 2024 Region 8 Freshman of the Year in 2024.
The Blugolds kick off the 2025 NCAA Division III Tournament on Thursday, November 20 against St. Mary's College of Maryland out in Pittsburgh, Pa. First serve between the Blugolds and the Seahawks is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET.
