EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's and women's cross country teams on Sunday received at-large berths to the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships. The men's team returns to the Championship for the second year in a row. The women's team returns to the Championship for the first time since 2023.
The Blugold men placed sixth at the NCAA Regional on Saturday. The team is led by
Jack Hesse-Withbroe who has had a strong senior season for the program. Hesse-Withbroe finished 10th at the NCAA Regional meet and ran his collegiate best time in a 3rd place finish at the WIAC Championship.
The Blugold women placed third at the NCAA Regional on Saturday. The team is led by junior
Molly Heidorn who is running some of her best races as of late. Heidorn had a strong 3rd place finish at the NCAA Regional meet and won the WIAC Championship with her collegiate best time.
The UW-Eau Claire men placed 19th in their last trip to the NCAA Championships in 2024. The UW-Eau Claire women placed 15th in their last trip to the NCAA Championships in 2023.
The NCAA Championships are set for Saturday, November 22, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The men's race begins at 11 a.m. ET., and the women's race begins at 12 p.m. ET.
