EAU CLAIRE, Wis.- The Blugolds men's cross country team kicked off its season with its annual Alumni Meet on Saturday at Eau Claire City Wells.

Alumni Jesse Peterson took first place in the 8k race with a time of 26:42. Kyle McNally placed second overall and first on the Blugolds with a time of 27:19 with Andrew Thaler grabbing third overall at a time of 27:28. Seven of the top-ten spots came from UW-Eau Claire. UWEC took first place with 23 team points to the Alumni's 38 points.

The Blugold men will take the course to take on outside competition for the first time on Saturday, September 19 at 11:00 a.m. when they travel to Northfield, Minn., to participate in the St. Olaf Invitational.
