MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (blugolds.com) - The Blugolds throws squad traveled to the Twin Cities last Friday to face off against Division 1 and Division 2 opponents. The Blugolds proved they were a force to be reckoned with, even in the face of Big Ten opponents.

Adam Strouf accepted the challenge and responded with a lifetime personal record, 18.30m, in the men's shot put to place second in the meet. Strouf also threw a personal best in his slightly weaker event, weight throw, with a mark of 17.88m. Yakob Ekoue, fresh off a weekend of rest, finished in third place in shot put (17.77m) and fourth in weight throw (19.18m).

On the women's side, Kayla Behnke hit a bomb in the shot put with a huck of 13.94m, the 7th ranked mark in the nation and a personal record. Raina Stecher got in on the action with a 13.39m throw in the event, also a personal record. The ladies went on to place 4-5-6 in the weight throw, Kayla hitting 17.76m, Teagan at 17.58m, and Raina at 17.53m.
